Here are the main steps of the filter installation:
- The filter is attached to the house water input pipe after the valve closure member. Besides, it is possible to install the filter under sink.
- First you need to turn the water off at the mainline, then open the closest water input tap. After all water leaks out the pipes, you can continue the installation.
- You need cut out the piece of a pipe to attach the filtering equipment.
- The filter is attached to the pipe in accordance with the arrow on the filter casing. You need to thoroughly check the attachment places. The additional sealing materials (the plumber's tape comes with the filter) are used to increase the attachment tightness.
- The filter is installed with its drainage outlet down. If you use the auto drainage system, it is set up instead of the drain tap. The flexible hose is attached to the drainage outlet and is led into the drain or any container.
- To check the operation, you need to turn on the water at the mainline without closing the water input tap. The leaking water will reveal the defects if any. In most cases the reason is the insufficient attachment tightness.
In the course of operation the outer bowl of the filter collects the filtered debris. The lower part of the filter has a drain outlet that we recommend to attach to the drainage with the help of the flexible hose. Depending on the water quality, you need to open the drain tap once in 1-2 weeks (sometimes more often if the water contains more debris) for about 10-30 seconds (manually or using auto drainage system). All the collected debris will be flushed with the water flow down the drain.
If you flush the filter in a timely manner, the filter doesn't have any significant influence on the on the dynamics of the water flow.
Fibos water filter filters only the mechanical impurities, which means the undissolved particles with the diameter of 1 micron and more. So it partly removes the lime scale but for better efficiency we recommend to install the softener additionally to Fibos. In this case you solve the issue with the hard water and provide a much longer lifetime for your softener system as the water comes already filtered.
